Quality management is not a simple process of finding out the defects of products, but a process of evaluating and judging from the practical perspectives of stability, economy, safety, etc., and improving and implementing them. Therefore, Doosan Machine has established an internal "quality management product quality group", which plays the role of "gate" connecting the supplier, the demander and the market to make products that meet the needs of customers and the market. In this interview, we won the "2021 Commendation of the President of the Korea Mold Industry Collaborative Group", and publicized the SEO YOUNGIL of the "Quality Management Product Quality Group" of Doosan Machine Tool's quality management infrastructure, and also learned about the meaning and importance of quality management.

The role of quality management is design quality management. Design quality management refers not only to the level required by customers, but also to finding out the negative CTQ (Critical to Quality, key quality characteristics) that customers do not realize, but the equipment should have, to find out the characteristic values required by customers and the efforts that can actually meet their characteristic values, as well as the management methods.

The vice president SEO YOUNGIL, who is in charge of MC product quality part in the quality management product quality group, introduced that "quality covers all aspects of design, production, service, etc.", "the work of the quality management product quality group includes confirming whether the designed products meet the design quality verification required by the market and customers, and whether the designed products can be put into mass production product quality inspection for stable production", that is, From the design stage to the delivery of finished products from Doosan, the product quality team is to improve the "indicators" of quality through "verification" and "inspection" to meet the function and quality level required by customers.  


Won the commendation of the President of the Korea Mold Industry Collaborative Group in 2021

The second chief of SEO YOUNGIL, who entered Doosan Machine Tool in December 2001, is an old engineer who has worked in the quality department for many years. He recalled that "when he first entered the company, the definition of quality was to make the inspection standard table, sort out and share the functions of the equipment", and added that "throughout the production process, we should explore a scheme that can improve the quality. In order to achieve this scheme, it is very important to analyze and check the quality management of the process. In foreign countries, we call the quality management experts" Quality Engineer ".

For more than 20 years, as the quality engineer of Doosan Machine Tool, Vice President SEO YOUNGIL has been striving to improve his professional level, and also because of his contribution to the development of the company and the mold industry, he won the honor of "the President Award of the Korea Mold Industry Collaborative Combination in 2021" at the regular meeting of the Korea Mold Industry Collaborative Combination held on February 25.


Since its entry into the company, SEO YOUNGIL has carried out the performance verification and evaluation of the VM/BM/NX series and FM200 linear mold processing equipment, laying the foundation for the verification and evaluation of the machine tool. In order to improve the processing quality, precision and production capacity, SEO YOUNGIL also participated in the servo parameter optimization of the feed system to improve the quality of the equipment. In addition, it has laid a foundation for using laser interferometer equipment to evaluate the thermal deformation of the feed shaft, and has been applied to the verification and evaluation of new models. An unmanned automatic thermal deformation detection system using the 5Channel LVDT sensor has been developed and applied to the ISO230-3 ETVE test and evaluation, making contributions to the improvement of the test and evaluation methods for machine tool thermal deformation/structural deformation and the ability to analyze thermal deformation.

In addition, through the tool measurement and workpiece measurement option system, we improved the thermal deformation test and evaluation method under the customer's use conditions, developed a 5-axis profile machining precision verification coupon, and applied it to the verification and evaluation. In the past 20 years, SEO YONGIL has been committed to the development of related industries through the "machine tool verification, improvement and development of test and evaluation methods".


What is the future direction of quality verification/inspection and management?

The recent trend of machine tool industry is "flexible production" and "development of customized equipment". In view of this trend, the proportion of "Special Quality (SQ)" will be gradually increased in the future. "With the growing demand for SQ from the company's customers, we are exploring solutions", the vice president of SEO YOUNGIL said, "Adding SQ is the counter evidence of the differentiation of Doosan's equipment by" customization "," thoroughly mastering the requirements of customers and the market for SQ, and achieving customer satisfaction is the role of the quality engineer in the future ".

At the same time, the vice president of SEO also emphasized that "because the validation system of mass production equipment has been systematized, SQ should be flexibly applied to high-end equipment with weak inspection process", "in order to provide customer satisfied quality, we will continue to monitor customer and market needs and trends, and reflect them in quality management".
